Carnon is a warm and family-friendly seaside resort just 15 km south of Montpellier, at the gateway to the "Petite Camargue". The whole area is a sunny land of tradition, part of the "Pays de l'Or", where you can also enjoy Mediterranean markets and the wild beauty of Camargue bulls and horses.
The marina is another lovely spot to explore. It is fully pedestrian, like a true haven of peace, with a walk of about 3 km all around. A contrasting strip and a guide-rail make it easy and safe for everyone to enjoy. You can sit in the shade of the palm trees and watch the boats come and go, or stop at one of the many bars and restaurants along the port, most of which are on one level. Watching the sunset here is a show all by itself. For those who love cycling, two green cycle paths cross the town: one runs 9 km between Montpellier and Carnon, and the other goes 6 km from the Lido of Carnon to La Grande Motte.
